About Omsorg
“Omsorg” (pronounced ohm-sorg) is a Scandinavian word for tender, attentive care.
It represents taking total personal responsibility for someone's well-being with warmth, discretion, and devotion. We brought this concept to Gurugram to create a home that celebrates our elders.
Why Omsorg was founded
In modern India, families face a heart-wrenching dilemma as parents age. Busy adult children work demanding jobs or live across the world in Sydney, London, or New York. The default response has been to hire domestic attendants in private flats. But domestic attendants cannot cure the gnawing loneliness of an empty room, cannot identify the subtle early signs of pneumonia, and frequently disappear without notice.
On the other extreme lies the hospital or sterile nursing home—clinical, alarming, and deprived of joy. Omsorg was created to bridge this chasm.
